I grew up always wanting to make things, to build things.
My younger siblings and I were always trying to build “contraptions”. Our most memorable, albeit ill-fated creation was a sandwich making machine that used primarily Legos held together by rubber bands. It held lunchmeat and mayonnaise over the course of a few days, and by some miracle (whip), we avoided getting sick, but that was our only point of success.
As I got older, I realized I needed to leave food and engineering to the professionals and focus on my strengths: shapes and colors. I’m happy to report, I’ve found a bit more success.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still passionate about sandwiches and building things, but design is my true bread and butter.
My favorite projects have been the ones dedicated to improving the lives of others. My main goal in my work (and my life) is to use my talents and time to make my corner of the world better than when I found it. I operate best when I’m working on things I believe in and I want to bring light and life to the people I serve.
The future is hazy, but my goals remain the same:
1. Make cool things.
2. Do things that matter.
